Dear Miss Liyana,

http://www.helpguide.org/mental/children_divorce.htm

Recently while I was reading a newspaper,my eyes was merely stuck when I saw this one particular title. This big, glaring title specifically caught my attention. It was about the divorce between famous Hollywood couple, Jennifer Lopez and March Anthony. In my opinion, they really looked good together and the marriage seems just fine and I really don’t understand how such things could happened. Lopez’s decision to end their seven years marriage sent the fans in total shock and people mourned their sudden separation, especially she just gave birth to twin three years ago.

Talking about divorcé, it had been such a hot topic now in Malaysia. The divorce rate is getting higher as year passed by and this is really terrifying.

It makes me ponder for a while. What would happened to their children? Yes,they are still young and know nothing about divorce, but one thing I can assure is when they grow up, they will start wondering why their parents didn’t live under the same roof and why their parents are not together.

What if their children were older? Imagine their feeling when the image of their perfect family that they were so proud of become a shattered illusion.  To see their parents suddenly didn’t talk to each other and to witness the relationship between both parents become sour, it must be a devastating sight.

After all, it was every child’s unspoken dream to see their parents marriage lasts till the end. To see their parents suddenly become bitter to each other. Hence, their children become the victim, as they have to choose between their mother and father. To cornered them to do such a hard decision is really pitiful.

This is the effect of divorce affecting the child. To be a parents, it is not an easy tasks. One must know their responsibilities and how to tolerate between each other. When we start to understand this fundamental we might be able to stop divorce from happening.
